Apakah Realistic Mathematics Education Berpengaruh Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Matematis?

Kemampuan berpikir kreatif sangat penting dimiliki oleh siswa terkhusus kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Para peneliti di bidang pendidikan (guru dan dosen) sudah banyak melakukan penelitian dan salah satunya memilih Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) sebagai alternatif dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa jenjang sekolah dasar hingga sekolah menengah atas. Dari 136 studi primer diperoleh 16 studi primer yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi. Selain itu, effect size yang diperoleh berdasarkan pengujian keseluruhan studi pengaruh RME terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa adalah 0,973 dengan besar pengaruh tersebut dikategorikan berpengaruh sedang. Berdasarkan karakteristik studi pada penelitian ini ukuran sampel, jenjang pendidikan, dan demografi siswa bukan menjadi faktor heterogennya kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Studi ini memberikan masukan pada guru dan dosen matematika bahwa mereka sebaiknya memilih RME sebagai alternatif pembelajaran matematika untuk diterapkan terutama pada jenjang sekolah menengah atas dalam menumbuh kembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis.
